In the College of Arts, Education, and Sciences, we are dedicated to the unique success and academic excellence of each and every student who walks through our doors.

We are made up of four academic units: the School of Education, dedicated to the preparation of outstanding teachers; the School of Humanities, studying the nuance and significance of history, languages, and communication; the School of Sciences, searching for solutions to problems in the natural world; and the School of Visual and Performing Arts, where vibrant performances and artwork challenge and inspire us.Ìý

ÍøÆØÃÅ hosts Student Showcase for Environmental Education Grant Student Showcase

ÍøÆØÃÅ hosted a group of local high school students and guests from state and federal agencies at the ÍøÆØÃÅ-EPA Environmental Education Grant Student Showcase on April 26, 2024. The event was a culmination of a three-year grant whose theme and purpose was "Creating the Next Generation of Environmental Stewards." Partner schools included Caldwell Parish High School, Neville High School, Ouachita Parish High School, St. Frederick High School, and West Monroe High School.

ÍøÆØÃÅ and KEDM partner with City of West Monroe for Oral History Project

ÍøÆØÃÅ and KEDM Public Radio recently partnered with the City of West Monroe for the West Monroe Oral History Project in honor of the city's 140th birthday in 2023. A special presentation of the project was held at the West Monroe Convention Center on April 16, 2024. The event was co-hosted by the West Ouachita Senior Center.

ÍøÆØÃÅ Art and History programs collaborate for unique learning experience

Two programs from the College of Arts, Education, and Sciences at the University of Louisiana Monroe recently collaborated to create a unique learning experience for a group of students. On March 25, 2024, students from Dr. Monica Bontty's History of Biblical Lands course, as well as ÍøÆØÃÅ History Program Coordinator Dr. Jeffrey Anderson, worked together with Art Program Coordinator Megan Smith on a ceramics project.
